At GPS, we lay strong emphasis on sports and physical development. We make this an ideal and unparalleled place for various sports training programs. The school boasts of international standard sporting facilities for Basketball, Cricket, Equestrian, Soccer, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton, Swimming, Yoga, Aerobics, Rock Climbing, Volleyball, Taekwondo, Athletics only to mention a few. Our sports curriculum is planned and designed for students to develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control, balance etc.

We believe in mass participation, exposing our students to a number of sports events at Inter House, Inter-School, State, National and International level. Every student is encouraged to join at least one school sports team. Our coaches are well qualified, young and energetic with expertise in their area of skill.

A great team building sport, it develops muscle and bone strength along with stamina of the students. Every child’s fantasy begins with being the next Lionel Messi. We have dedicated football fields and expert coaches that provide guided tutoring to master this art.

We take pride to have one of the biggest cricket fields in Noida and the finest pitches for net practice. Under the able guidance of trained coaches, the Mayoor Cricket team has been actively participating in Inter- House as well as Inter- School Cricket matches. This sport brings out qualities like courage, integrity, honesty, individual excellence, extraordinary team work, leadership and humility in both victory and defeat.

Basketball adds on to the development of a child’s tolerance, gross motor coordination and most importantly imparts a sense of rigour. Like any other sport, even basketball counts for a lot of practice and dedication.

Through rigorous training, the students build physical strength, alertness, endurance along with mental strength and self-discipline at an early stage in life. Combat sports today are recognized as an art form and are considered to be amazingly beneficial for enhancing the functioning of all of our senses. Learning self-defense is of paramount importance for each student especially during these times.

The movements required when playing volleyball strengthen the upper body, arms, shoulders, thighs, abdominals, and lower legs. In addition, it improves hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and balance. It also lays emphasis on teamwork and communication and is a great social activity.

The students are trained rigorously for field and track events like Marathons, Races, and Long Jump etc. Through athletics the students learn to stretch their abilities and enhance their stamina. They are encouraged to try harder each time they perform by boosting their morale.

Yoga & Meditation is an intrinsic part of our daily routine. Whether it is relaxation, Pranayama or performing complex asana, our trained Yoga instructors create a mystic blend of tradition and innovation in the environment of today’s classrooms. A very pertinent and ideal solution to tackle stress and depression, giving a positive, happy and healthy attitude.
